Named after the waters that feed into the Chesapeake Bay, The Tidewater marks our first dive watch. We designed the Tidewater to be an extremely capable diver that has a clean & classic design. We realize the 200 meter depth rating might be a bit overkill for everyday needs, but with it's commanding wrist presence we expect the Tidewater to see plenty of wrist-time. All Tidewaters are assembled in America.
We LOVE a nice bright lume on a watch, so that's why we chose C3 Super-LumiNova, one of the brightest options available. Both the cermaic bezel and applied hour markers are coated with C3 lume.
We had a lot of options available when determining what type of bezel to use, but we knew it had to be lumed and ceramic. Ceramic bezels are known for their durability and scratch resistance especially when compared to steel or aluminum. These bezels have a wonderful glossy shine that really sets them apart, plus the C3 lume helps make the watch stand out in dark environments.
The Tidewater dial features applied markers that are polished and topped with C3 lume. We love the raised look of the markers as they add depth to the dial, plus the polished finish catches in the sunlight.
The Tidewater features a Swiss Made Sellita SW200 automatic mechanical movement. This movement has become an 'industry workhorse' and can be found in many watches, often 2 to 3 times more expensive. The Sellita SW200 has many great features, including Second Hacking, a 38 Hour Power Reserve, 26 Jewels, and 28,800 beats per hour.
The stainless steel bracelet of the Tidewater is custom made specifically for the watch. It features end links designed with the same curve as the watch case, thereby giving a nice tight bracelet ‘fit’ with very little gap. The bracelet is 22MM at the lugs and tapers down to 20MM at the clasp. Each link is removable via screws and a perfect fit is achieved with the multiple micro adjustments.
We wanted a departure from the traditional round watch, so we designed a custom cushion case that measures 42MM. This in-house design was made using CAD software and a 3D printer. Being able to have this technology allowed us to continuously tweak the model until we knew it was perfect. Many hours and prototypes later, the Tidewater was born.
To help ensure our 200 meter depth rating, our Tidewaters feature a screw-down crown.
The tidewater area of the Chesapeake Bay will always have a soft spot in our hearts. Having spent the majority of our summers in the tidewaters of Virginia, we felt it only fitting to name our first dive watch after the region. The Tidewater is a very capable diver built to withstand a 200 meter depth, but also meant to be enjoyed by boaters and sport fisherman alike.
