The Le Mans Special Edition is a Gulf Racing inspired variant of our Tidewater that was created especially for the 2019 Chattanooga Motorcar Festival. This limited edition watch was the coveted prize for 19 class winners. In the planning stages of the Motorcar Festival we did not know how many classes would be in the show, and therefore we manufactured an adequate number of parts just in case. Lucky for you we now have a select few watches created from our extra supply. All Le Mans watches are assembled in America.
The perlage dial exhibits a wonderful engine turned effect just like the finishing work used in many classic race cars. Pictures simply cannot capture the mesmerizing way the light dances in the dial. We used Gulf Racing colors because they were the color scheme of the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival and they are simply awesome racing livery.
This sporty watch is paired with a perfect color matching BluShark Rally Silicone Band. The silicon is sweat-proof and provides an extremely comfortable wear in all conditions. We love the rally style of this band as it picks-up the racing theme of the watch.
The aluminum bezel continues the vintage theme of the watch. The blue in the bezel is again a perfect match with the dial, which provides a cohesive color palette throughout.
The Le Mans dial features applied markers that are polished and topped with C3 lume. We love the raised look of the markers as they add depth to the dial, plus the polished finish catches in the sunlight.
We LOVE a nice bright lume on a watch, so that's why we chose C3 Super-LumiNova, one of the brightest options available. Both the hands and applied hour markers are coated with C3 lume.
The Le Mans features a Swiss Made Sellita SW200 automatic mechanical movement. This movement has become an 'industry workhorse' and can be found in many watches, often 2 to 3 times more expensive. The Sellita SW200 has many great features, including Second Hacking, a 38 Hour Power Reserve, 26 Jewels, and 28,800 beats per hour.
We wanted a departure from the traditional round watch, so we designed a custom cushion case that measures 42MM. This in-house design was made using CAD software and a 3D printer. Being able to have this technology allowed us to continuously tweak the model until we knew it was perfect. Many hours and prototypes later, the Tidewater look was born.
