The Maxton

C3 Super-luminova

We LOVE a nice bright lume on a watch, so that's why we chose C3 Super-LumiNova, one of the brightest options available..

Ceramic Bezel

We had a lot of options available when determining what type of bezel to use, but we knew it had to be ceramic. Ceramic bezels are known for their durability and scratch resistance, especially when compared to steel or aluminum. Also, ceramic bezels have a wonderful shine that really sets them apart, plus makes the watch stand out.

Subdial details

We love admiring the distinct details of vintage chronographs, and we think one of the coolest features are textured subdials. The grooves of the subdials bring a depth to the watch face, plus they create a unique look as light reflects in a dynamic pattern.

Case Design

We wanted a departure from the traditional round watch, so we designed a custom cushion case that measures 39MM. This in-house design was made using CAD software and a 3D printer. Being able to have this technology allowed us to continuously tweak the model until we knew it was perfect. Many hours and prototypes later, the Maxton was born.

Horween Leather

The buttery feel of this strap is brought to you by Horween Leather, one of Americas oldest leather tanneries. Located in Chicago, Horween continues to hand process all leather using the same methods from when they started business in 1905. Horween uses native hides for the best grain and yields, premium grade oils, dyes, and retanning agents. They are the exclusive supplier of leather for National Football League footballs and National Basketball Association basketballs.

Swiss Movement

The Maxton is powered by an ISASWISS 8371D quartz movement which combines the accuracy of a quartz watch, but also the mechanized feel of a more expensive mechanical movement. Pushing the buttons gives a positive feedback, just like a vintage chronograph, you can feel that 'click'. The chronograph hand moves at 5 beats per second which helps give the appearance of having a smooth sweep instead of a one-second tick like traditional quartz watches.

What does Maxton mean?

The Maxton draws its name from the famous Maxton Mile in North Carolina, a land speed track built on an old army air base. Back when it was in use, the mile-long track allowed racers to push their vehicles to the limit and achieve the highest speed during the one mile distance.

On the Maxton, the tachymeter function of the bezel requires the user to know a standard measure of distance. The Maxton Mile was exactly one mile long, making it the perfect namesake.
